Companela's guys, Italian mafiosos are seen arrogant and dumb, while Japanese criminals are somewhat peace loving; a bit too romantic setting. But still, not bad setting. Ryo Ishibashi acts well as Japanese Yakuza, and Viggo Mortensen is ever so cool.

俄罗斯版《大事件》由瑞典导演安德斯·班克（Anders Banke）执导，班克在莫斯科的电影学院念书，并且能够讲一口流利的俄语，他曾经导演《致命吸血鬼》，正是这部电影中透出的才华让俄罗斯制片公司看中，选择其拍摄《大事件》，这也是俄罗斯第一次翻拍香港电影。从公布的剧照、预告片来看，整部电影营造的警匪对抗的紧张气氛更为浓厚，另有不少爆炸戏份。
